CompTIA Security+601 Exam Requirements
The requirements are:
- At least two years of experience in IT administration (with a focus on security)
- CompTIA Network+ credential before taking the CompTIA Security+ Exam
Exam Format
The exam consists of:
- Maximum of 90 multiple choice questions
- Duration of the exam is 90 minutes
- Minimum passing score is 750 out of 900
Re-examination
If you fail your first attempt at the CompTIA Security+ Exam, there is no waiting period prior to attempting the exam a second time. However, if the second attempt also failed, you are required to wait fourteen days from the last exam to re-take the exam. Once you have passed the exam, you cannot re-take the exam without prior consent from CompTIA. Please note, candidates are required to pay the exam fee for every time they sit for the CompTIA Security+ Exam.
